Ironworks Texas January 2 1865
Mr. Pugh
Sir, please send by the boy Sampson 3000 pounds of salt. I enclose the order of Mr. Wafford for 2 or 3 sacks of salt. At the time Mr. Wafford give me the ordre he intended it to pay the ballance he owed us in examining the books I find that Mr. Wafford owes us 9 sacks of salt. If he had have know that he owed us that amt he would have gave us the order for that amt. Send the 3000 pounds & charge to Mr. Wafford whatever you think propper & I will settle with you for the ballance.
